Well, not really, but this little nugget is funny : Bachmann used to be a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stillwater, MN, which belongs to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a group of churches that adhere strictly to the teachings of Martin Luther and that, get this, consider the Catholic Pope the real Antichrist.
Clearly a ludicrous proposition !
I wonder why Bachmann retracted her membership with this church recently ? It couldn’t have to do with the fact that a presidential candidate Bachmann wouldn’t want to offend 70 million potential Catholic voters by belonging to a cult that sees the Pope as the Antichrist, surely !
