“the man who is infallible must also be accountable.” Exactly. I know little of the law in any country, but I am confident that, in the USA, there are two felonies involved. “Accessory after the fact” and Aiding and abetting”.
In the first, knowing of a crime, even after it has been committed, and not reporting it is being an accessory.
In the second, assisting someone known to you of having committed a crime ad helping the avoid prosecution be concealing that knowledge and helping them by any means, such as moving to a different area or even country, is aiding the criminal.
By those measures alone, the pope and others are felons and should be in prison.
